The in-house bookkeeping platform I built so I could do client books at scale — bank feeds, automatic reconciliation, tax-ready financials, no QuickBooks.
Forty Two Six is the bookkeeping software I built and use to run client books at Timothy LeGendre CPA LLC. After years of cleaning up QuickBooks files before filing tax returns, I built my own platform so the categorization, reconciliation, and CPA review steps happen in the same workflow — with the tax return already in mind. It is a CPA-operated platform: I run it, and clients see clean, reconciled monthly financials in their client portal. It is not sold as a standalone product you operate yourself.
Forty Two Six connects directly to the systems where your money moves and captures every transaction at the source: Plaid bank and credit-card feeds (12,000+ institutions), Mercury business banking, Stripe payments and revenue, and Gusto payroll — with Ramp spend management and JobTread job costing coming soon. From there: CPA-trained transaction categorization rules written from filing thousands of small-business returns, monthly reconciliation built into the close (not a separate task), Profit & Loss / Balance Sheet / Cash Flow statements mapped to tax return line items, secure encrypted client portal delivery, and Florida CPA review on every set of books. Because the data is pulled from the source instead of keyed by hand, the financials come out accurate and tax-ready. No separate QuickBooks login. No subscription renewal email from Intuit. Built and run by a licensed Florida CPA (#AC62625, firm #AD72267).
Clients of my CPA bookkeeping service do not log into Forty Two Six directly. Instead, on the second of every month, their reconciled financials appear in their client portal — already CPA-reviewed and already mapped to the tax return I will file for them. I run the platform; they see the output. The standalone bookkeeping service starts at $500/month, software included, tax return quoted separately.
Forty Two Six is connected today to Plaid (bank and credit-card feeds across 12,000+ institutions), Mercury (business banking with direct accountant access), Stripe (payments and revenue), and Gusto (payroll, wages, and contractor pay). Ramp (corporate cards and spend management) and JobTread (construction job costing and project financials) are coming soon. Forty Two Six is CPA-operated software used by Timothy LeGendre CPA LLC to deliver monthly bookkeeping to clients — it is not sold as a standalone product you operate yourself.
