Cookie Notice
Last Updated: October 22, 2026
This Cookie Notice explains what Timothy LeGendre CPA LLC ("I," "me," or "my") stores in your browser when you use timcpa.com, including the client portal and electronic signing pages.
The short version
I do not use advertising, analytics, social media or tracking cookies, pixels or session recording. What the Site stores in your browser is there to sign you in and remember a few display settings. Two features, the map on my contact page and address suggestions in the tax organizer, are provided by Google and can let Google set its own cookies.
What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small files a website places in your browser. Browser storage (often called local storage and session storage) works similarly and can hold a little more. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab; cookies and local storage stay until they expire or you clear them. "First-party" means set by the site you are visiting; "third-party" means set by another company whose content appears on the page.
What the Site uses
| Type | What it does | Who sets it | How to control it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps you signed in to the client portal (your sign-in session, which includes your email address, is kept in local storage until you sign out or the session ends), and keeps a one-time signing link working while you sign a document (session storage). | Me (first-party) | Signing out ends your session. Clearing site data in your browser removes it, and you will need to sign in again. |
| Preferences | Remembers display choices, such as how a portal worksheet is laid out (local storage). My own staff screens also use a cookie, lasting up to a week, that remembers whether the side menu is open. These hold no personal or financial information. | Me (first-party) | Clear site data in your browser. The settings return to their defaults. |
| Google features | The map on the contact page and address suggestions in the tax organizer load from Google, which may set its own cookies and receives your IP address and, for suggestions, the address you type. Reviewer photos shown with my Google reviews load from Google's servers too. | Google (third-party), under the Google Privacy Policy | Block third-party cookies in your browser settings. The map and suggestions may then not work fully; you can still type your address by hand. |
Because nothing on the Site is optional tracking, there is no cookie banner to accept or refuse.
Your choices
- Block or delete cookies. Most browsers let you block cookies, block only third-party cookies, or clear what a site has stored. If you block essential storage, you will not be able to stay signed in to the portal.
- Block images. You can set your browser not to load images, which also stops review photos from loading from Google.
For more on how I handle your information, see my Privacy Policy.
Changes
If what the Site stores changes, I will update this notice and the date at the top.
